Dominican in top form, travel to the Caribbean boasts many wonderful islands but also an angular reputation for mediocre all-inclusive resort with lack of quality. That was then. Now is the accommodation of the highest standards, superb golf courses, beautiful surroundings and magical beaches that apply. Dominican is here to stay. .

White sand beaches and turquoise seas
Beautiful nature, masterfully white sand beaches, turquoise seas and palm trees that stretch out exactly where the Bounty advertising. Postcards environments allows not long in coming, and the pleasant temperatures also make it to the plus signs, many which we find ourselves.
Leave the ”safe-zone”
I will not deny that our skepticism was relatively high before this trip when the giant all-inclusive complex filled to the brim with loud Americans do not really tops our wish list when we travel away. Sometimes it is good to leave the ”safe-zone” and in this case it turned out to be just that.
Dominican Republic – history and culture
Certainly, the Dominican is 99% all-inclusive complex full of happy tourists but if you know about it and make their choice of accommodation to the discerning eye, and embarks on excursions outside the hotel area, inviting environment so very beautiful and pleasant that we still enjoy it very much.
Santo Domingo – the first city of the New World
What makes the Dominican Republic interesting is the added spice of history and culture. Christopher Columbus sailed past already in 1492 and two years later founded the capital of Santo Domingo, under the name of Hispaniola. The city is the first to be built in the New World, which makes it boasts a number of historical ”first buildings” which even today are preserved and contributes to a historical Columbos- feeling when you stroll around the capital’s cobbled streets.
Friendly and accommodating locals
The people are happy and friendly so be sure to take you around to see and experience as much as possible.
Everyone we meet is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the interdependence means that kindness is in focus.
One of the best golf destinations in Caribbean
Dominican Republic is lined with 1600 kilometers of beach and nine of the country’s golf courses are on the Golfweek Magazine’s list of the Caribbean’s top 50 courses. Golf legends Pete Dye, Gary Player, Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus have all designed their own courses which certainly contributed to the country’s award ”Best Golf Destination” as they did in 2013 by golf organization IAGTO. Playing golf is not perhaps a whale watching tours, a zipline tour or merenguedans can stand on the daily schedule?
Coast to coast
Today, there are a number of really fine establishments around the country that offers first-class luxury, fabulous service and five-star accommodation in both private homes as lovely resorts.
The country’s sophisticated East Coast of Punta Cana, Bavaro and Macao are the most frequented areas and the Caribbean’s latest hot spot when it comes to upscale accommodations and the finest golf courses.
Intimate villages on the southeastern coast
On the country’s southeastern coast in La Romana, for example, you’ll find the smaller villages that feels more quaint and intimate than the larger hotel areas. Last but not least we have the country’s northern coast, including Puerto Plata beautifully framed by the mighty mountain range. It boasts one of no less than twelve mil of adorable beach coast and magically beautiful scenery.
We stayed at four different resorts
Since we live in four different resorts during our stay, we will see much out of the island as we move between our hotel. These tours always put a silver lining on the day and that’s when you stop for a coffee, a look at a rum distillery, cigar store or a lunch in a local ”hole in the wall” as the real meeting takes place. The storing in the memory bank. Just as sunset walks on the beach, yoga class at dawn and the children fotbollslek where the team consists of seven different nationalities.
Here we stayed
Eden Roc at Cap Cana
Ten points out of a possible ten. An own small beach bay guided to accommodation, good food and a really good golf course next door. Very quiet and peaceful. The opposite of all inclusive giants. edenroccapcana.com
Club Med Punta Cana
Absolutely, we belong to the ”Club Med” fanclubb but the reason is simple, because we always have very good experiences when we live here. The resort is for families with children, would not check in here at parresa but for the family bent all points of. Extra plus, as always, for the high quality of the food is. Absolutely one of the best all-inclusive options in the Dominican. clubmed.us
Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana
Madonna’s limo from the Grammy Awards stands in the entrance, Elvis costume and Jimi Hendrix shoes as well. Do you like rock and roll, giant pool areas, water parks and an incredible array of more or less everything, well then this is the right resort. Good for children, good for the rockers, but perhaps a little less so for those who do not like AC / DC medley at breakfast. hardrockhotelpuntacana.com
An elegant all-inclusive resort where the beach Bavaro, which is literally miles long, which is taken from a postcard paradise. They have succeeded in creating both a choice for the traveler who wants full speed in the pool area, but also more peaceful areas where tranquility reigns. Good choice of buffet restaurants and a la carte. barcelo.com
